In addition to experience fostering humanities research and collaboration, the ideal candidate will also have a record of leadership in some combination of these key areas: effective communication and organizational skills; project management; grant writing and funding; public outreach.
Responsibilities include: working with the steering and advisory committees to develop new programming; facilitating collaborative research opportunities; establishing communications between USC humanities faculty and programs; supporting interdisciplinary faculty research; promoting public engagement and community collaboration in the humanities; pursuing institutional grants and external support; managing budgets and grants; creating an inventory of humanities activities on campus; overseeing communications including website and social media. Tenured faculty from all units within the College of Arts and Sciences, with a preference for candidates in the arts and humanities, are encouraged to apply.
Each interested candidate should submit (a) a letter of interest containing a brief description of relevant experience, (b) a one-page statement articulating their vision for the future of the Humanities Collaborative, and (c) a curriculum vitae electronically to Courtney Starling (starlinr@mailbox.sc.edu).
