BTCM Storytelling

Beyond the Classroom Matters (BTCM) is the University of South Carolina’s co-curricular engagement framework that captures student participation in experiences occurring outside and inside the classroom. BTCM helps the institution understand how students engage in programs, services, organizations, leadership opportunities, employment, recreation, and other learning experiences that contribute to their development and success.

The analyses are intended to support:

  • evidence-informed decision making
  • strategic planning and resource allocation
  • continuous improvement of student engagement opportunities
  • understanding access to high-impact practices
  • institutional understanding of how engagement contributes to retention, persistence, and academic success

The BTCM Story

A high-level storytelling dashboard focused on communicating the broader narrative and value of Beyond the Classroom Matters (BTCM). This highlights key takeaways, engagement patterns, student growth, and the overall institutional impact of co-curricular engagement.
