Mrs. Erin Quineche earned her bachelor’s degree from Furman University in 2005, and
had the opportunity to study Spanish and pre-Columbian studies at Universidad Internacional
in Cuernavaca, Morelos, México. She then completed her Master of Arts in Teaching
at the University of South Carolina in 2011.
Since then, she has taught middle and high school Spanish in her hometown of Seneca,
SC, and more locally at Cardinal Newman School here in Columbia. Her husband's military
career has taken her to Colorado, where she taught at The Vanguard School in Colorado
Springs, being named "New" (to the school) Teacher of the Year by her colleagues in
2024, and then another move to Northern Virginia where she taught at The Oakcrest
School.
Throughout her career she has sponsored Spanish and multicultural culture clubs and
their service projects, namely, The Pulsera Project; interpreted on mission trips,
and taken her students to Spain, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. Her students have also
received Gold and Silver on the National Spanish Exam. She has served on many committees
as an advocate for her students throughout the years.
In the fall of 2025, Erin Quineche began her career at the University of South Carolina
as her husband was restationed at Fort Jackson. She has taught Span 121 and 122, and
she looks forward to adding more courses to her repertoire and hopefully leading a
study abroad program in the future. Her passion now extends to Perú and South America
as her husband is from Lima, Perú.
