Biography

Austin Petrie is teaching faculty at the University of South Carolina, Department of Political Science. Austin's research and teaching interests span the fields of American Politics and Methodology - with a particular focus on law and courts. His work focuses on state judiciaries, public law, and interbranch relations. Additionally, his dissertation The People's Lawyer: State Attorneys General and the Impact of Selection Systems examines how state attorney general (AG) selection systems influence the selection of state AGs across various categories of diversity, including gender, race/ethnicity, and career experience.
