Biography

Ashley teaches coursework that includes content on implementing evidence-based practices, establishing collaborative partnerships, and providing effective behavior supports. Her primary interests include training and coaching preservice and experienced teachers to implement equitable positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) across a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) and supporting students who demonstrate persistent and pervasive contextually inappropriate behaviors. Before working in higher education, Ashley taught special education in self-contained and inclusive early childhood and elementary settings in Tennessee and Connecticut.
