The Self Regional Healthcare – University of South Carolina PGY1 program is an ambulatory care focused year-long
experience designed to equip residents with the knowledge, skills and confidence to
autonomously manage an ambulatory care practice. The outpatient-focused resident
will join three additional inpatient-focused PGY1 residents at Self Regional.
The charm and Southern hospitality of Greenwood, South Carolina, home to Self Regional, is evident from the moment you enter town. Pharmacy residents
will enjoy the benefits of affiliation with the USC College of Pharmacy, including
an advanced Clinical Teaching Certificate program, residency research series, and
faculty mentorship. The interprofessional ambulatory care practice model allows residents
to serve patients in rural or medically underserved communities through collaborative
practice agreements. Train alongside Self's Family Medicine medical residents through
frequent collaboration and cross training opportunities. Many fourth-year pharmacy
students train at Self Regional to complete their advanced pharmacy practice experiences.
