Disclosures and Conflicts of Interest

All covered individuals under USC’s research security program are required to disclose all sources of support whether funded or unfunded, domestic or foreign.

Mandatory disclosures or approvals may be required by RSCH 1.06 - Disclosure of Financial Interests and Management of Conflicts of Interest Related to Sponsored Projects (pdf) or ACAF 1.50 – Outside Professional Activities for faculty (pdf), or specific awards or federal funding agencies you may support. This helpful link (pdf) provides a user-friendly table on what range of activities and financial interests do/do not need to be disclosed. Disclosure requirements for international collaboration related activities are outlined on our International Collaborations and Foreign Influence page.

Several university divisions listed below offer information and processes for understanding and disclosing conflicts of interest and conflicts of commitment. Covered individuals are encouraged to review this information and ensure they comply properly with relevant university policies. If you have questions or uncertainty about reportable disclosures, you can visit the below sites or reach out to the USC Conflict of Interest Compliance Manager.

Prohibition of participation in malign foreign talent recruitment programs

The National Defense Authorization Act and the CHIPS and Science Act require covered individuals and institutions to report if they are a party to a foreign talent recruitment program contract, agreement or other arrangement. Visit our International Collaborations and Foreign Influence page for more information on avoiding and reporting malign foreign talent recruitment programs.
