Fitness Assistant
Fitness Assistants play a key role in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment within Campus Recreation facilities. They engage with patrons, provide guidance on equipment use, enforce policies, and promote a positive fitness experience. Fitness Assistants also help maintain organized workout spaces and respond to safety concerns to ensure a high-quality recreational environment for all participants.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee activity in fitness spaces.
- Enforce policies and safety procedures promptly and professionally.
- Assist patrons with equipment use, spotting, and general inquiries.
- Learn and understand the function of various fitness equipment.
- Clean and organize fitness spaces and equipment.
- Respond to injuries and follow emergency procedures.
Leadership & Additional Roles
Leads fitness staff in daily operations, providing guidance, monitoring facility activity, and promoting a welcoming and motivating atmosphere for participants.
Provides additional support to fitness staff and assists with programs and activities to educate patrons and staff on equipment uses.
Maintain fitness equipment in optimal working condition by performing deep cleaning and minor repairs. Opportunities for additional training are available to develop skills in equipment inspections and maintenance.
Group X Instructor
Group X Instructors create fun, engaging, and inclusive fitness experiences by leading a variety of group workout classes each week. They ensure safe and effective instruction across multiple formats, including strength, cardio, cycle, mind & body, dance, and Barre. Instructors also support special events, private classes, and outreach efforts to promote wellness within our campus community.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain an active group fitness instructor certification.
- Plan and lead safe, engaging, and effective group fitness classes.
- Ensure clean and organized studio spaces before and after classes.
- Instruct private classes for on-campus organizations as needed.
- Support outreach efforts and assist with special events.
Leadership Roles & Training Programs
A semester-long program designed for aspiring fitness instructors, culminating in the opportunity to earn the ACE Group Fitness Instructor certification. Participants will engage in classroom learning, assist with group fitness classes, and develop the skills needed to lead safe and effective sessions under the guidance of experienced instructors.
Oversees the group fitness program, managing instructors, scheduling, and ensuring high-quality class offerings that meet participant needs.
Personal Trainer
Personal Trainers serve patrons by designing and delivering personalized training programs tailored to individual fitness goals. Trainers manage client communications, scheduling, and session tracking while supporting outreach initiatives and special events to promote overall wellness within our campus community.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain an active NCCA accredited personal training certification.
- Create and deliver individualized training programs tailored to clients' goals.
- Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and act as a spotter during sessions.
- Manage client communications, scheduling, and session tracking.
- Assist with outreach initiatives and special events.
Leadership Roles & Training Programs
A 6-week program for aspiring personal trainers, culminating in the opportunity to earn an NCCA-accredited Personal Training certification. Through a combination of classroom sessions and practical assignments, participants will gain the foundational knowledge and hands-on experience needed to become a certified personal trainer.
Leads and manages the personal training team, overseeing scheduling, client programs, staff development, and ensuring high standards of service and client satisfaction.
Works with athletes to enhance their performance through specialized training programs, focusing on strength, agility, and sport-specific skills.
