Joseph F. Rice School of Law

Brianna Botka

Why did you choose USC Rice School of Law?

This school provides good financial aid support and incredible opportunities through its new facilities and strong professional network. The faculty and other student here created a very collaborative and supportive environment for me from my first time entering the building.

What advice would you give a first-year law student?

My best advice would be to take the time to discover your own study habits and figure out what truly works best for you. Law school can be very challenging and overwhelming at times with a lot of differing opinions, thats why it is so important to develop habits that work for you. Everyone learns differently, so it’s important not to compare yourself too much to others. Once you understand how you learn best, you’ll be able to manage your time more effectively, stay organized, and feel more confident in your academic journey.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

The accomplishment I am most proud of was networking to get a job in the field I am interested in persuing despite not having any legal background or connections in South Carolina.
